We've helped Fund 4 Education Programs (part 1)

Posted by Jessica Chavez on

Hello Friends!

Hope you all had a great Giving Tuesday- We thought this would be a great time to post about what we're doing behind the scenes at The Raise Collection aside from designing fun prints.
With everyone's help who has shopped our site and supported us we have been able to sponsor and help fully fund not 1, not 2, not 3, BUT 4 PROGRAMS at schools across the U.S.A. It's absolutely incredible and wonderful and amazing and valuable to see how much of an impact a small business can make. Thank you, Thank you, for being our partners in making this happen!
So, would you like to hear more about these programs? Let's talk about the first one:
Ms. Madison's (grades 3-5) class at Kate Sullivan Elementary School in Tallahassee, FL will be able to begin their Dig Deeper into Reading program. Here is what Ms. Madison says, "Reading is always more fun when you are able to dig deeper into the books we are reading. My goal as an educator is to make learning fun. This project will provide students with their own copy of the first book we will be studying. The goal is that students are able to connect with the book more while learning the standards to be a successful reader. The novel study will cover comprehension, vocabulary, predicting, and so many other skills. I selected this certain book because it is age appropriate while focusing on the differences in our peers that make us so special."
Here is what she says about her students:
"Our school is a special place filled with students from all walks of life. Some of my students are creative and compassionate. Others are kind hearted and supportive of their peers. I also have highly competitive driven students. Each and every one of them has a desire to learn!"
A little more about the equity focus at Kate Sullivan Elementary School:
-more than 50% of students are Black, Latinx, and/or Native American,
-more than 50% come from low-income households.
This program is going to help ignite all those 'brilliant thoughts' as her class becomes engaged readers!
Please check back tomorrow to hear about the second fully funded project we (that's YOU and The Raise Collection) helped get off the ground.

If this excites you, please LIKE and SHARE our posts so that people know about us and we can sponsor even more projects. Let's keep going!
**editing to add the note we received from Ms. Madison:

Dear The Raise Collection,

I'm so excited to began my journey with fourth grade! We will be digging deeper into our novels to support their understanding of reading. The more they know, the more successful they will be. This book was selected so that students can gain more insight on the difference people have. Thank you again for y'all of your support!

With gratitude,
Ms. Madison
